I've been playing Django Style for the last 15 years or so (still not quite there!) and visit the Django Festival in France every year. Over the years it struck me that a player who wanted to get into the style, could find it was difficult to get hold of an entry level Selmer replica. I wondered whether there would be a market for an affordable instrument, built to the right spec but cheaper, and readily available.

I teamed up with a mate (that’s Mike Harmsworth) who had a contact with a luthier in the Far East (his wife is from Hong Kong and they have a large extended family throughout the region) and a few years ago, we started having some prototypes built and sent over. After a lot of too-ing and fro-ing getting details right and making corrections to the build, we finally have what I feel is some very playable, good sounding guitars that don’t cost the earth.
