All our instruments are built to the Selmer Maccaferri plans supplied by F.Charle, Paris
The Grande Bouch (Big Mouth) was originally designed by Mario Maccaferri to obtain the maximum volume while still retaining tone, and often included a resonator inside the body to help amplify the sound.
This technique is no longer employed as it effects the tone of the instrument too much.
The
D hole now is used as instrument of choice for many rhythm guitarists because of the warm full tone but are equally adept at producing the attack for solo work.
