The Oval Hole model was originally produced by the Selmer company from 1936 until the company closed in 1952 and is largely celebrated as being the guitar used by the Great gypsy Jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt.
The internal bracing and varied thickness of the top of this model has the effect of giving great volume and attack, as such is often the preferred instrument for soloists.
